5 Stars Prevention Magazine is very informative and useful
I thoroughly enjoy this magazine. It has so many articles pertaining to health issues and healthier living. Articles about daily living, and stories about people who have had lifestyle changes. All aspects of health are covered in this magazine. It discusses medications, vitamins, sleep issues, diet and exercise. Plus, it is a handy size to slip into my purse, so I take it with me and can read it when I am waiting for an appointment or just have a few minutes.

Purchased this from AMAZON.COM on sale for 5 bucks for 1 yr. I enjoy this magazine because it reads sort of like Readers Digest example: short Concise articles and it is the same compact size as readers digest. I will renew this subscription again.

The Rodale Corporation (Rodale, Inc.), which publishes this magazine and others, uses a scam to squeeze money out of unsuspecting consumers who have subscribed to their magazines and then decided not to renew the subscription. After several attempts to send you renewal invoices and other scare tactics, you’ll receive a collection notice from the North Shore Collection Agency demanding money and raising the threat of debt delinquency. For most of us, this translates into a tarnished credit report.
Please let your friends, family, co-workers, and other people in your life know about this deceptive scare tactic to fleece money from folks. As a long-time subscriber to Prevention magazine I whole-heartedly recommend it to everyone. It offers new treatments for a variety of medical problems, new products for working out, age-fighting ideas, healthy food tips and even make-up suggestions. And, with it’s convenient smaller size, it fits easily in your handbag or briefcase so it’s always there when you have time to kill (like when you’re waiting in line or eating lunch alone). 1 Star Sucks…don’t waste your money.
I have been a subscriber to this magazine since I was seventeen. Several years ago they got a new editor, and I began to see the seeds of what has become a disastrous change.
What used to be a classy, engaging, user-friendly magazine about herbs and herbal living, has turned into a Martha Stewart Living wannabe, Add- oriented, waste of strain on the environment.
I thought after a three year break maybe they would have gotten a new editor, or they would have realized that they were ruining a good thing. But I was wrong. I wish I could have my $19.95 back.Please don’t waste your money, instead look for back issues( pre-2003). they will give you a taste of this magazine when it was actually worth something.
1 Star A great disappointment - not what it used to be
This used to be a really outstanding magazine in the 90s, when it was published by Interweave Press. Each issue was thick with informative articles, high quality photos, wondeful recipes and craft ideas. The most important people in the herb world wrote regular columns and articles, people like Tom DeBaggio.
I unfortunately let my susbscription expire and was shocked when I renewed it and this new version showed up in my mailbox. It bears little resemblance to the original magazine. Not only is it less than half the size of the original magazine, it has considerably less content and many more ads. The wonderful columns are gone and the articles are superficial and geared toward those who are new to herbs. I treasure all my past issues of Herb Companion. I won’t be renewing my subscription.

This is a helpful magazine although I wish for the price it had more information. I actually subscribe to it for there are not many out there. It does help you out on explaining in detail about selected herbs.
5 Stars Great for the gardener and herb enthusiast
This magazine is focused mainly on offering information about herbs in their gardening and food aspects. This is a nice change from the many books to be found concerning the medicinal aspects of herbs. I enjoy growing herbs for spices along with the medicinal purposes, so this has been a valuable resource. One feature in this magazine that I have really valued is the section offering information on regional herb festivals and other organized events. I also particularly like the featured herb articles– especially the one on lavender. There are many, many interesting advertisements as well.
4 Stars Super Informative for the Herb Gardener
This is a super magazine for the beginning to advanced
herb gardener with the focus being on gardening and growing
herbs, as well as their culinary and craft oriented usages.
Less emphasis is placed on the new agey / medicinal usages
although basic medical uses are sometimes covered. In my opinion
this is one of the best, if not the best, herb mags available
now. I have learned many gardening tips and ideas through the
Herb Companion and recommend it wholeheartedly.

I have a lot of cake books, etc however I really ennjoy this magazine because it is professionals and non-professionals showing their cakes. This means that not all cakes are ultra hard and you can get some really good ideas.

I received a music sheet book instead of what I ordered. Have not had the time to mail the sheet book back, hope to do so this weekend. Not happy at all.

This is a great magazine to subscribe to if you are a cake decorator or looking for help with cake designs. MBN is an awsome magazine with tons of advice, products and techniques. I have experienced great service from Mail Box News and cant wait for the next issue to come.
5 Stars Great Source of Ideas
If you are a cake decorator always looking for new ideas this magazine is a great place to look. They recently started having more detailed descriptions of the cakes which is really helpful. I have been getting this for years along with American Cake Decorating and they are both great. I had to call customer service once and they were very helpful and took care of what I needed. I would definitely recommend this magazine to other decorators.

I like this magazine but waiting for issues is like piping with cold chocolate…Sooo painfully impossible! I have subscribed to this magazine over the years and have been it as a gift. I always,always, always had to wait and the issues were sporatic and have had to call many times to find out where is my magazine??! I have been told ther were publishing issues, and payment issues and mailing issues…but no magazine issues! Finally, after having already having a subscription in effect and getting a renewal as a gift…they stopped sending them altogether! I guess it snapped a circuit having overlapping info! I called. I Got no issues although they saw I had issues coming. That was more than a year ago! I cannot blame the postal system people. There should also be more advanced and inspiring articles. How many roses do we need ! The garden is full of flowers! Why does everyone have to make the same uninspired thing? There are tons of inspiring techniques we as “cakies” want to learn.This country has an unending wealth of cake artist…just go to the Oklahoma Sugar Art Show! They should take 2 projects per issue from that show in each issue! Now, I just go to the site and look for issues with people like Kerry Vincent as contributer and I will be inspired. There is no reason ‘Sugarcraft Magazine’is better even if they have been around longer. We all come from the same gene pool…we all LOVE the cake…the cookie…the sugar craft anything. We need more. We need our issues!!

I still have not received this magazine. I placed my order back in June. I have never before had problems with an item being delivered, even from the most obscure vendor!

I received a music sheet book instead of the American Cake Decorator Magazine I ordered. I haven’t had a chance to send the sheet book back, hope to have some time to do so this weekend-what an inconvenience! Very displeased!
1 Star Beware of this Magazine Reseller!!!!
This subscription is being sold by a reseller called Magazine Express, Inc. I had this purchased for me and paid for in early December as a gift and just found out I will not receive my first issue until June! After researching I have found they are known for collecting money but not starting subscriptions until you call to complain. And for me, even then I was told I have to wait months to receive the first issue. I understand some of the delay being that it is only published 6 times a year, but this delay seems excessive. American Cake Decorating is a great magazine, but beware of the seller.
